Like many of other teenagers, I am used to spending my time on social media. Unfortunately, I spend less time to check my student mailbox which impedes me from getting informed of the amazing webinars and conferences implemented by my school.

But that was before Get always connected comes in my life : thanks to this application, I receive the content and the sender of important emails automatically in the messaging service of my social media to be always informed of the news of the school !!

Get always connected is an application that allows EM Lyon students to be always informed of the important information of the PGE without being disturbed by other information less important.

This application uses APIs ( Applications programming interfaces). It is a « software-to-software interface » which allows applications to talk to each other independently of the users. An API is like a messenger which takes an information from a software to relay it to another software, like a waiter who takes our order to give it to the chef.

In order to create this application, I worked with the website zapier.com. At first, I created a new zap by clicking on make a zap.

Then I selected the Microsoft Outlook API that I linked with the Facebook messenger API thanks to Zapier. The Microsoft Outlook API is the trigger : as soon as I receive an email, it will provok an action from my API.

I added a filter : the email from my Outlook messaging service is transmitted to the receiver only if the sender contains « PGE » in his name.

Then, I will receive the content and the sender of the email directly in my Facebook messaging service.

Step 1: make a new zap

Step 2: link the Microsoft Outlook and the Facebook messenger APIs

Step 3: add a filter by clicking on filter by Zapier

Step 4: add the filters from email address and contain PGE
